What is AI-friendly content?

Answer engines such as ChatGPT search, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews do not show ten blue links. They read pages, pick short passages that answer a question and cite the source. This is what AEO (answer engine optimization) and GEO (generative engine optimization) are about.

Pages that get cited tend to share the same structure: one clear topic, sections that match real questions, a direct answer at the start of each section, lists and tables for facts, structured data, and visible authorship and dates. The checker measures exactly these signals in the HTML that crawlers receive.

How to use the checker

  1. Enter the URL of an article, product, category or service page.
  2. Read the score and start with the high impact fixes.
  3. Update the page, then run the check again to confirm the improvements.

Examples

Blog article

A 1,500-word guide with only two H2s and long paragraphs scores around 50. Splitting it into question headings with a two-sentence answer under each, plus an FAQ block and Article schema, usually brings it above 85.

Product page

A product page with a short description and no schema misses easy points. Add a specs table, an FAQ about sizing and delivery, and Product schema with price and availability.

JavaScript app

If the score is very low and the tool warns about JavaScript rendering, AI crawlers see an almost empty page. Server-side rendering or prerendering fixes most of the score at once.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between AEO, GEO and SEO?

SEO optimizes for ranking in classic search results. AEO optimizes for being the direct answer (featured snippets, voice assistants, AI answers). GEO optimizes for being used and cited by generative engines like ChatGPT or Perplexity. Good structure helps all three.

Does a high score guarantee that ChatGPT will cite my page?

No. Citations also depend on authority, links, freshness and how well the page matches the question. The score shows whether structure is holding you back, which is the part you control directly.

Which pages should I check first?

Start with pages that already get search traffic or that answer common customer questions: guides, category pages, best-selling products and service pages.

Does the checker run JavaScript?

No, on purpose. It reads the raw HTML, the same way most AI crawlers do. If your content only appears after JavaScript runs, the checker shows it as missing.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

Yes, it is free and needs no account. We do not store the URLs you check.
